Teresa Frances (Caruso) DiFrangia passed away on November 28, 2022, at the ripe age of 99 years old. Teresa was born in Castel de Sangro, Italy on January 3, 1923. She arrived in the United States when she was 5 years old and became a lifelong resident of the City of Akron. Graduated from Akron North High School in 1941 and, after a short working career mostly at the Dime Bank, she married the man of her dreams, Mike, and became a very devoted wife, mother and homemaker. The raising of her two sons was a big priority in her life and they are forever grateful for her guidance and compassion. Along the way Teresa made a handful of close friends, became a very good Italian cook and dessert baker, enjoyed dancing with her husband (especially at numerous Italian weddings at the local Carovillese Club where Mike tended bar in his spare time), and supported the local St. Martha Parish (now Blessed Trinity).
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Josephine and Pasquale Caruso; her husband of 34 years, Mike DiFrangia; as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Mary Caruso; her older son, Jim DiFrangia and his family (wife, Denise and children, Michelle, Jackie and David); her younger son, Ron DiFrangia; many nieces, nephews and their families.
Teresa's family would like to thank the staff at The Landing of Stow for their devoted care, as well as The Cross Roads Hospice Care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Tuesday at Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. Akron. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to mass at the Church.
