Teresa Hulsmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frederick Funeral Home on Dec. 7, 2025.
Teresa A. (nee Guillaume) Hulsmann, a vibrant spirit and cherished soul, will be remembered in our hearts and minds long after her passing on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Born on January 7, 1948, in Cincinnati, OH, she brought a light into the world that was a true reflection of her loving nature. She is reunited with her beloved parents, James E. and Esther M. (nee Winhusen) Guillaume.

For 48 wonderful years, Teresa shared her life with her loving husband, James R. "Jim" Hulsmann. Together, they created a beautiful family, blessed with two children, Dave (Kimberly) Hulsmann and Michelle Edsall. As a grandmother, Teresa radiated love through her joyful laughter and warmth, delighting in her grandchildren-Charlotte, Lillie, Damian, Addilynn, and Alex (Dustin)-and rejoicing as a great-grandmother to Landen, Maxden, Haizleigh, and Weston. Her two sisters, Patti (Dan) Shatzer and Mary (Randy) Kent, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, will carry her spirit forward.

Teresa dedicated 44 years to her work at Union Central Life Insurance, where she forged lasting friendships with her "work sisters." These bonds exemplified her generosity and loyalty, wrapping her colleagues in the warmth of her laughter and kindness.

Nature brought Teresa joy; she spent hours nurturing her garden and taking long walks with her dog. Movies, concerts, and the thrill of UC football games filled her with excitement, while quiet moments were cherished through reading and attending Jazzercise classes. Her faith provided solace, and her love for singing echoed in her heart. Reality TV shows were her guilty pleasure, adding a sprinkle of fun to her evenings.

Teresa was the epitome of devotion-a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother-who never missed a beat in life's symphony, always cheering proudly from the sidelines of her children's and grandchildren's activities, regardless of their scale.

To honor her remarkable journey, a Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM, a space where her spirit will feel right at home. Friends and family can gather in remembrance during visitation at Frederick Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to celebrate Teresa's life by making a memorial contribution to the American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. Her legacy will live on in every garden bloom, every joyous song, and every loving memory she's left behind. Let us gather to rejoice in a life well-lived, surrounded by the warmth of stories and laughter that will forever echo in our hearts.
