Teresa Larson----81, Minot, formerly of Bergen, ND, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in her home.
Teresa "Terry" Marcella Wald was born on August 17, 1941, one of thirteen children born to Joe and Anna (Boehm) Wald in Minot, ND. She was raised on the family farm near Norwich, ND. She attended school in Surrey before moving to Minot where she was in the first graduating class of Bishop Ryan Catholic School in 1959.
On June 29, 1966, Teresa was united in marriage to Jerome "Jerry" L. Larson at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Minot. They made their home on a farm near Bergen, ND, where together they raised their family, farmed and ranched. Jerry passed away on September 26, 2007.
Teresa was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Balfour, ND, and St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Velva, ND, where she was active with the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and a Eucharistic minister. After moving to Minot, she became a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Her family was very important to her. She lived her life serving others. There were always hot meals and baked goods to share with everyone. Her house was immaculate; the result of a strictly kept schedule of weekly cleaning. She took great pride in keeping the farm yard well maintained with an array of brightly colored potted plants, perfectly trimmed hedges, and a regularly weeded garden. She embodied the value of "a place for everything and everything in its place."
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was coloring, doing puzzles, playing cards, or giving them snake bites. She was always listening to music. One of her favorites was Daniel O'Donnell, who she saw multiple times. She loved to dance, spending many nights dancing at the Knights of Columbus with her husband. She was known for her smile. Her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone ensured that no one was a stranger for long.
Her faith was an intimate part of her life. One of the many ways she practiced her faith was reading her Bible every night. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to live their lives serving the Lord. She set an example for how to live a good Christian life by attending Mass weekly, keeping Holy Days of Obligation, and attending various spiritual retreats.
Teresa is survived by:
Children: Rhonda (Paul) Dockter and Brian Larson;
four grandchildren: Natasha (Brad) Allred, Karleen (Tucker) Payne, Jordan (Aaron) Bowser and Levi Larson;
five great-grandchildren: Kyran, Brexton and Hadley Allred, Robin and Luke Payne;
brothers, Harold (Elayne) Wald, and Jimmy (Helen) Wald;
sisters, Lorraine Ziegler, and Mary Ann (Robert) Larson;
brothers and sisters-in-law: Don Larson, Duane Larson, Lyle (Paulette) Larson, Marlene Skar, Janet (Bill) Nichol and Marilyn Conery; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, mother and father-in-law Irvin and Sally Larson, brothers John Wald and Andy (Mag) Wald; sisters, Rose Schwan, Appie (Don) Rademacher, Ann (Ralph) Black, Leona (Richard) Mosser, Regina (John) Klein, Helen (John) Keller and Edward Ziegler; nieces and nephews: Bob Wald, Rodney Keller, Joey Wald, Donnie Wald, Larry Klein, Rita Bachmeier, and Dale Skar.
