Thelma Louise Larson, 93, of Altona, passed away peacefully at her home with her children by her side on Friday, September 5, 2025.

Thelma was born on December 21, 1931, in Greenbush. She was the daughter of Clifton and Mary (Waller) Dykeman. Thelma married the love of her life, John Henry Larson, in 1950. Together they celebrated 73 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 10, 2023. Surviving Thelma are her children, James (Donna) Larson of Oneida, Robert (Carol) Larson of Altona and Carol Larson of Altona; five grandchildren, Julie (Adam) Martin, Joe Swanson, Erick Larson, Jennifer Swanson and Emily (Josh) McAfee; and four great-grandchildren, Darrien Swanson, Aiden Martin, Peyton Martin, and Laykin Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Dennis Larson, grandson Jeff Larson, and sisters Ruth Bollman and Eleanor Jean Dykeman.

Thelma was a graduate of Galva High School. She was a proud homemaker and exemplary farmer's wife. Thelma was a member of The Grove Community Church. She sang in the church choir and served in numerous lady's circles. Thelma was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary for the Altona American Legion. Most of all, Thelma loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to services at The Grove Community Church, 212 North Depot Street, Altona, IL, with Rev. Scott Cramer officiating. Committal services will follow at the Altona Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Grove Community Church.
