Teresa Ann Senz

Teresa "Teri" Ann Sherman was born on December 20, 1948, to Marvin and Patsy Sherman. From a young age, Teri's life was shaped by adventure, faith, and a deep love for others. At age four, her family moved to the beautiful San Juan Islands to help build a church camp. There, she lived in a rustic Hudson Bay Trapper Cabin and had a powerful near-death experience involving a bulldozer-an event that brought her face-to-face with her faith, as she glimpsed Jesus. From that moment, Teri embraced Jesus as her Savior and carried her love for Him throughout her life.
Teri spent her high school years in Portland before moving to Newberg, Oregon, where she attended George Fox College and earned a degree in education. She began her teaching career at Dundee Elementary in 1971 and later taught at Ewing Young School. Teaching was one of her greatest joys, and she poured her heart into every student she met.
On May 21, 1988, Teri married the love of her life, Richard Senz. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and shared passions. Teri had a zest for life and an endless list of talents and interests. She was not only a dedicated teacher, but also a reserve police officer, line cook, waitress, church camp counselor, and a mentor to troubled youth. Her love for horses was a lifelong passion-she enjoyed raising and training them-and she also delighted in painting, sewing, crafting, square dancing, water sports, and volunteering aboard a 1912 sailing schooner. Her deep love for animals and people shone through everything she did.
Above all, Teri had a heart for sharing her faith. She spoke to someone about Jesus nearly every day, always eager to spread hope and joy to those around her. Teri is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Richard Senz; her sister, Janell Goode, and brother-in-law, Danny Goode; her mother-in-law, Rhoda Senz; her brothers-in-law, Randy Senz, Pat Senz, and Tim Senz; her sisters-in-law, Tina Senz, Lori Senz, and Donna Senz; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Teri's life was a vibrant reflection of her faith, compassion, and joyful spirit. She will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered by all who knew her.
