Teresa Ann Hall Sloan, known affectionately as Teresa Sloan, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 64, in New Albany, MS. Born on May 8, 1961, in Baldwyn, MS, she was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her. Teresa's life was marked by her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family, and her joyous spirit that uplifted everyone around her.
Teresa graduated from East Union High School in 1979, carrying with her the same warmth and friendliness that would later define her career and relationships. She worked diligently as a supervisor at Lee County 911 until her health began to decline, a role in which she demonstrated her innate ability to care for and serve others in their times of need.
A devout Christian, Teresa was a cherished member of Blue Springs Baptist Church, where she found great comfort and community. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every joy and challenge with grace and strength.
Family was the center of Teresa's world. She is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Sloan, with whom she shared countless cherished memories, from beach trips to simple, beautiful moments riding through the countryside or just around town, with their dog, Roxy. Her son, T.J. Sloan, and his wife, Kristina, were the pride of her life, and she delighted in every opportunity to support and celebrate them. Teresa's sisters, Maxine Langford, and Sereda Hall, shared a special bond with her that was evident to all, and her brother, Dwight Hall, and his wife, Sarah, will miss her deeply. Her grandchildren, Preston Sloan, Isabella Willard, and Grayce Willard, brought her immeasurable joy, and she embraced every moment she had with them.
Teresa's love extended beyond her immediate family to her Ingomar ballgames family. She and Tommy were fixtures at the games, cheering on the players with genuine affection. Teresa's love for "her kids" was as boundless as her love for her own family.
Known for her loving nature, Teresa was also recognized for her kindness and gentle spirit. These traits were the essence of who she was and shone brightly in her interactions with friends and loved ones. Her legacy is one of unwavering love and selfless devotion to those she held dear.
While the loss of Teresa leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will continue to inspire and comfort. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Paul Hall and Ethel Allene Thomas Hall, and her brother, Steve Hall. Their reunion in eternal peace is a solace to us all.
Teresa's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. As we say goodbye, we also say thank you-to a woman whose life was a gift to everyone she encountered. Her spirit will forever be remembered, her kindness will continue to ripple through the lives she touched, and her love will always be felt by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Services to honor her life will be Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at United Funeral Service with Bro. Gary Yates and Bro. Marty Merritt officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday beginning at 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm also at United Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Wilkins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Hogue, Jonathan Ashley, Josh Wray, Terry Thomas, Daniel Dabney, and Don Dabney. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Fitzgerald, Roger Langford, and the Union County Sheriff's Department.
United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these services.
