Teresa was the loving daughter of the late James and Mary (Waldron) Winston and grew up in Jamica Plain. She was a gradture of St. Thomas High School in Jamaica Plain. Teresa met her future husband Al while working at a movie theatre in the South End of Boston and the two married on August 22,1952. Teresa and Al fell in love quickly and followed their dreams of having a large loving family.
Teresa and Al raised their family in Roslindale. Al worked for the Boston Gas company and Teresa worked overnights part time as a switchboard operator all while taking care of her children and also taking care of her father and mother who lived in the same house in Roslindale.Teresa and Al took the children to Priscilla Beach in Plymouth most summers when the kids were growing up where Teresa's parents had a cottage.
When the kids were getting older, she started working for Hobart Corporation in Dedham where she was a valued employee who retired as a service manager in 1993. Teresa loved working for Hobart, she was very dedicated and loved everyone she worked with.Teresa was very proud of her accomplishments while working at Hobart.
Teresa and Al moved to Bridgewater in the mid 1990's where they immediately embraced "country living" with their High Pond community. They never missed a trip (especially to the casino) and had many loving friends. Teresa and Al went on a cruise to Alaska which was one of their BEST vacations, Las Vegas was second on their list.
Teresa loved watching the Patriots, in particular Tom Brady and also watching golf,Tiger Woods on TV. Teresa never missed a good Hallmark movie. Over the last 4 years while Teresa was at Keystone Assisted Living in Buzzards Bay she loved seeing all of her children, her 90th Birthday party was all she talked about over the last year as she saw most us all together for a few hours that day.
All of the staff at Keystone took such great care of Teresa and she had many friends that she loved playing bingo with or going to Happy Hour with. Teresa loved being out on the Cape Cod Canal feeling the sun and watching the boats go by. Terri will be missed by all who knew her.
Teresa was the devoted mother of James.M. Smith of Plainville, Alfred J. Smith and his wife Charlotte of TN, Michael F. Smith and Barbara of S. Weymouth, Kathy M. Piazzo, and her late husband David of Plymouth, Ann M. Grasso and her husband Paul of Plymouth, Gerard T. Smith and his wife Alyce of West Roxbury, and Christopher S.
