Isaac Simmons

Isaac Simmons was born on February 22, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Isaac and Anna Mae Simmons, much to his parents' joy. In his youth, he moved north to live with his uncle Rutledge (Rudy) Waker and grandmother Hester Waker. He went to Brockton High School and later graduated from Middleborough High School, where his talent and dedication earned him many acknowledgments. As a star athlete referred to as "Zac" his highlights were often in the local paper.

Isaac went on to work in his Uncle Rudy's affordable housing business "Low Cost Housing", where he developed a passion for thrifting and antiquing-an interest deeply inspired and nurtured by his uncle. A true jack of all trades, Isaac was skilled as a carpenter, painter, handyman, and entrepreneur. His work ethic and creativity were well known to all who knew him.

Isaac was married to his beloved wife, Earline Simmons, and together they had one son, Rutledge Simmons. He was a devoted father to Rutledge and a proud father-in-law to Lori Simmons. He was also a loving grandfather to his grandchildren: Cameron, Clayton, and Luna Simmons. Isaac's siblings include Loulee Morrison, Hester Boxill, Edrena Ross, and Joseph Simmons, as well as his late siblings Fred Simmons, and Sarah Ann Lynch.

Loved by many, Isaac will be remembered as a good man-reliable, hardworking, and full of generosity and love. His kindness, steady presence, and giving heart touched countless lives, and his legacy will endure through his family and all who had the honor of knowing him. He was known for giving cards and gifting thrifting items to loved ones and friends that made you feel special. He will forever be remembered for his big heart and humble spirit. A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and so much more.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, November 10th from 10-11 AM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford Street in Bridgewater. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
