Cecilia M. Gould

Cecilia Margaret Broderick Gould, 74, of Raynham, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Cecilia was born on July 4 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Patrick and Grace Broderick, and made Massachusetts her home from childhood. The eldest of eight children, she grew up surrounded by the liveliness, laughter, and closeness of a large family - a spirit she carried with her as she raised a family of her own. Among her greatest acts of love were the years of care she gave her son, Timothy, through his battle with leukemia, a time that revealed her extraordinary resilience and devotion. After facing profound loss, Cecilia rebuilt her life, finding peace and fulfillment in a home that reflected her resilience and independence. For 33 years, Cecilia worked for the Massachusetts Nurses Association, where she took great pride in helping others and being part of a dedicated team - many of whom became lifelong friends.

Cecilia was particular in the best of ways: thoughtful, organized, and never one to cut corners. She noticed what others might overlook and made sure things were done just right. Her strength was displayed not in grand gestures, but in the steady, everyday ways she showed up for those she loved.

She enjoyed travel, especially to Ireland, where visits with her extended family brought her happiness and a deep sense of connection with her heritage.

Cecilia is survived by a large and loving family, including her children David, Bethany and Andy; daughters- and son-in-law Elise, Adam and Mandy; grandchildren Coya, Noah, Owen and Archie; and siblings Patrick, Pauline, Mary, Grace, Eileen, Josephine and their families. She is preceded in death by her brother Chris and son Timothy, whose memory always remained close to her heart.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home, BRIDGEWATER. A celebration of life service will be held in the Chapman Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10 AM, followed by a burial service at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Bridgewater.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, an organization close to Cecilia's heart.
