Evelyn R. Mahoney

Evelyn R. Mahoney (Campbell), of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 92.

Evelyn graduated from Bridgewater Academy in 1950; she was in the last graduating class of the Academy building. After high school, Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for Acme Laundry CO in Bridgewater and Raytheon in Quincy. It was in 1950 Evelyn met Tom Mahoney while roller skating, they married in 1952 and settled in Brockton. After raising her children, she later began working as a secretary in the Brockton School Department. She ended her career working at the Adult Learning Center. After her retirement, Evelyn moved to Hyannis, Cape Cod where she became a member of the Villagers club, enjoying trips, activities and meeting new friends. Evelyn was happiest spending the summers on the beach at Hideaway Village in Bourne. Her main passion in life was her family and spending time with those she loved. Evelyn will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Beloved wife of 44 years to the late Thomas E. Mahoney. Loving mother of Thomas E. Mahoney Jr. and his wife Kathy of East Bridgewater, Scott Mahoney and his late wife Brenda of East Bridgewater, Shawn Mahoney and his wife Ellen of Osterville, Gary Mahoney and his wife Lisa of Virginia, and Kathleen Porazzo and her husband Paul of Bridgewater. Cherished grandmother of Tarah, Stephenie, Brandyn, Mitchell, Rachel, Maxwell, Alexis, Bianca, Anthony, Ronnie, Debbie, Christopher, Shawn, Stephen, and Rebecca. Adored great grandmother to 12. She was the sister of the late Ann Estes. The family is grateful for the care given to Evelyn by Elsa, Jessica, and Dina from Old Colony Hospice. Teresa and Johan from Abbot Care. Also, her private personal care attendants Gina, Lucinda and Inas.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 11 AM – 1 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home, BRIDGEWATER. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1 PM in the funeral home. The burial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, promptly at 10:15 AM.
