Teresa "Terri" Smith
Teresa "Terri" Smith, 73, of Fairfield, passed away on Monday, December 8th, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on July 3, 1952, in Eastleigh, England, she grew up in Bridgeport and made Fairfield her home for the past 48 years.
Terri was predeceased by her parents, Wincenty (Vincent) and Aleksandra (Wrzykowska) Kowalski of Bridgeport, and by her beloved sister, Mary Kowalski Koski of Milford.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 51 years, Rob, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge. Their bond was inseparable. Terri is also survived by her loving sons: Christopher and granddaughter, Anna, of Trumbull, and Matthew and his wife, Rachel, along with their sons, Connor, Ryan, and Lucas, of Greenwich. She is also remembered by a niece and nephew, as well as several grandnieces and a grandnephew.
Terri was among the first group of women accepted to Fairfield University. She ultimately chose to complete her bachelor's degree at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. After raising her two sons, she returned to the workforce while earning her MBA in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport. Throughout her career, she held a variety of accounting roles in New York City and Fairfield County, and, most recently, served as the Office and Client Relations Manager for a design-build company.
Terri cherished time with her family, especially during the holidays. She found joy in reading, antiquing and exploring flea markets with Rob, gardening, and listening to music. She was loving, compassionate, giving, caring, generous, and dependable. Terri formed deep and lasting friendships, and she touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be truly missed and forever remembered.
Friends may greet the family on Friday, December 12th, from 4-7pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13th, at 10am at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, CT. Interment to follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport, CT.
