Teresita B. P. Ojeda (née Pangilinan), affectionately known as "Tess", "Tessie", "Ate", "Mom", "Mama", "Mommy" and "Lola" passed away on August 11, 2024, in Jersey City, NJ, at the age of 74. Born on July 7, 1950, in Pasig, Manila, Philippines. Tess was a beloved figure in her community and a devoted nurse.
Tess pursued her higher education in the Philippines before embarking on a fulfilling journey and career in nursing, in the United States. She dedicated many years of service at Jersey City Medical Center and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai till she retired, where her compassion and care left a lasting impact on many lives.
Described by those who knew her as loving, caring, independent, strong, and passionate at everything she does. Tess found her greatest joy in being with her family and friends the most. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength to all around her.
Tess survived by the side of her children, Nicole and Jun Paul; her daughter in law Elly, her grandchildren Isaac and Avelina; and her siblings Erlinda, Rally, Susan, Raffy, and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Dionisio; her parents, Rafael and Avelina; and her brother, Junior.
A viewing service will be held at Greenville Memorial Home, 374 Danforth Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07305, on August 18, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm. A Mass service will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 40 Sullivan Dr, Jersey City, NJ 07305, on August 19, 2024, at 10am. The Greenville Memorial Home in Jersey City, NJ, is assisting the family during this time.
