Terrance Essenmacher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial - Smith Chapel - Port Huron on Mar. 27, 2025.
Terrance Leo Essenmacher Jr., known as Terry or JR to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at his home on March 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 27, 1967, in Port Huron, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late Terrance L. Essenmacher Sr. and Lavina T. (Hunt) Essenmacher. Terry's warm smile and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Terry's life was marked by his love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing at the Blue Water Bridge, where he would often be heard talking to the fish with his signature phrase, "here fishy fishy." Terry enjoyed being outdoors, hunting. His hands were rarely still, as he was always immersed in various projects, building and creating. He loved nature, bird watching, collecting stones and crystals, and looking for eagles. He loved his Dodge trucks. Terry's life was a testament to the bonds of family and the joy of living a life filled with passion. He was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and always found time to appreciate the world around him.
He is survived by his beloved girlfriend, Rachel Hegler, and his devoted siblings: Gary Essenmacher, Sunshine (Michael) Partridge, Jerry Essenmacher, Loretta (Joe) Salami, Sherry Buffington, Donna (Darnell) Horne, Donald (Alexandria) Essenmacher, and Thomas Essenmacher; children, Jessica Hase, Cassie Bushaw, Hanna Sirgey, Rochelle Martin, and Jayden Hegler; and his grandchildren, Landon, Roger, Addilynn, Grayson, and Micaiah.
A gathering and viewing will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron, MI 48060. A sharing of memories will begin at 6:00 p.m. Interment will take place privately at Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron.
