Mrs. Terri M. Donaldson, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away at home August 26, 2025, after a battle of many years with Parkinson's Disease.
Terri was born October 16, 1952 in Oakland, CA, later moving to Chico, CA. She attended Samuel Merritt School of Nursing, graduating in 1974, where she became a flight nurse aboard the Oakland Fire Department's air ambulance helicopter. In the forthcoming years, she served as an RN in hospitals in Chico and later on in Pullman, WA. In 1995, the family moved to Anchorage, AK where she took a post at Alaska Regional Medical Center. Five years later, they headed 40 miles north up the road to the city of Wasilla, AK, and Terri went to work as an ICU nurse at the Matsu Regional Medical Center in Palmer. She ultimately retired in 2014.
All in all, Terri served as an RN for 40 years having worked Trauma, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Nursing, ICU, and Surgical Recovery. There are a lot of people out there that are walking this earth, at least in part, because of Terri's expert care. In fact, she diagnosed a heart attack for a friend of her husband's while they were on the phone.
Terri belonged to the Alaska Chapter of Honor Flight and worked as a volunteer for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. She always loved baseball and became a huge hockey fan once she arrived in Alaska.
She was preceded in death by parents Will and Phyllis Rogers of Chico, and brother Dale Warnock of Hercules, CA. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ken Donaldson of Wasilla; daughter Brenna Kennicker of Fairbanks, AK; and step daughters K.C. Reid-Jacobs of Puyallup, WA, and Andrea Donaldson of Auburn, WA; as well as five grandkids.
She will be greatly, greatly missed. Per her request, there will not be a funeral, but if you might be in a position to do so, she hopes that you can donate to the American Parkinson Disease Association. Legacy Funeral Home of Wasilla will handle the arrangements.
