Publish in a newspaper

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Terriann Metz on October 2, 2025. Terriann was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose unwavering love for her family was the cornerstone of her life.
Born into the Sipperley family, Terriann was preceded in death by her beloved brother Richard Sipperley (2020) and her cherished father Andrew Sipperley (2023). She is survived by her loving mother Elaine Sipperley and her dear sister Annmarie Sipperley.
Terriann leaves behind her devoted husband, Harold Metz, and their children: daughters Chrislynn Metz and her husband John Guzman, Bethany Thompson and her husband James Thompson, and her son Harold J Metz. She cherished them all and loved them greatly.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Barbara Champ and Ruthanne Cassara, brother-in-law Ed Champ, as well as her treasured nieces and nephews: Brigid Auer, Mady Sipperley, Ryan Champ, Jason Champ, and Ken Bitel.
Terriann was a proud and resilient military spouse. Through her husband's deployments, she faced the challenges of raising three children largely on her own-never once complaining, always doing what needed to be done with quiet strength and grace. Her children grew into wonderful, smart, and independent adults, a testament to her unwavering dedication and love.
Terriann's warmth extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a deep love for jokes and laughter, and her smile was a constant presence in every room she entered. As a child, her uncle affectionately called her the "smiley kid"-a nickname that stuck, because she truly never stopped smiling. That joyful persona became her signature, touching everything she did and everyone she met.
Her life was defined by selflessness and a fierce commitment to those she loved. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and unconditional support. Whether offering a listening ear, preparing a meal, or simply being present, Terriann made everyone feel seen and cherished.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She will be remembered not only for her kindness and strength, but for the way she made family her life's greatest priority-and for the smile that never faded.
Terriann's spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory North Suffolk Chapel (5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday October 11, 2025 at 12:00pm at the same location.
