Charles "Terry" Ausmun, age 75 of Creelsboro, Kentucky, formerly of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. He is now with his savior Jesus Christ. Known for his love of God, devotion to his wife, his strength, generosity, an unmistakable presence, he leaves behind a legacy built, not only with the tools and grit, but with love and quiet wisdom.

Born on October 19, 1949, Terry was a man of action and heart. Whether behind the wheel of his tractors, working with his hands, or sharing stories with lifelong friends and family, he lived with purpose and authenticity. He was a kind man who didn't need to say much as his action spoke volumes.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army, including more than a year of overseas service during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dick Ausmun and his mother, Wanda Mae Ausmun.

Terry is survived by his wife, Sherry Ausmun; three daughters, Melody Waldroup of Alaska, Melissa (Jeremy) Wenninger of Ohio and Shawn (Josh) Slaven of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Haley (Jake) Simes, Kristopher Johnson, Aqua Johnson, Serentiy Johnson, Odessa Johnson, Izabella Wenninger, Jeremiah Wenninger and two great grandchildren, Braelynn and Oakleigh Johnson; special neighbors and friends, David and Carol Holt, Jerry and Maxine Perkins, Adam and Jessica Andrew, and their son, Ayden; loving cats, Miss Mink and Miss Gregorella.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 16, 2025, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. following visitation on Tuesday September 16th. Burial, with Military Honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow services in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
