Terry L. Baker, age 73, of Gardner, IL, passed away October 12, 2025.
Born June 1, 1952, in Pontiac, IL, Terry was the second child/son of Charlie and Lois (Hinthorn) Baker. He was a 1970 graduate of GSW High School and served in the US Air Force (1970 - 1974). While stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, Terry was honored to have served in connection with Operation Homecoming which saw the return of 591 American prisoners of war held by North Vietnam. After his discharge from the service, Terry eventually applied himself to a satisfying career as a Union Carpenter. He had belonged to Locals: 495 - Streator; 1092 - Seneca and 916 - Aurora, before transferring into Local 174, Joliet.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by an infant sister, Pamela, a younger brother Richard and brother-in-law Ed Berta.
Survivors include his wife Barbara; siblings, Dennis (Vicki) Baker of Gardner; Brenda (Mike) Foster of TN; Patricia (Keith) Hockings of AR and Steve (JoAnne) Baker of Coal City; in-laws, Ray (Marlene) Burnside of Morris; Rita (Tom) Fairbanks of Effingham, Lois Berta of Coal City, and Deb Ledford of MO, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews and cousins.
Cremation rights have been accorded under the direction and care of U.C. Davis Callahan Funeral Home, Morris.
