Terry Bard Obituary
Terry Bard
On Tuesday, July 15th, Heaven welcomed an angel that we knew as a beloved husband, father, "Papa", uncle, cousin, and friend.
Terry was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 28th, 1947 to parents Elmer and Ruth Bard (nee Kuna), and his older sister Lynn Kedziora, whom he adored.
A lifelong resident of Ohio, Terry attended Parma City Schools where he would not only create friendships that would last a lifetime, but where he would also meet the love of his life, Ceec Bard (nee Lepole) in the 11th grade choir. Dating throughout high school, their commitment and love for one another would foreshadow the narrative of their lives together. Upon graduation, Terry worked as a lineman at CEI for two years before enlisting in the Navy Seabees. Prior to his deployment to Vietnam, Terry proposed to Ceec. A testament to his unwavering devotion, Terry not only fulfilled his duty to his country by courageously serving in Vietnam, but he kept his promise to return home to Ceec where they would marry on October 5th, 1968.
Terry's life was marked by countless accomplishments, celebrations, and service. Starting as a lineman at CEI at age 18, his 38 year career with the company concluded with a leadership role in management. Continuing to answer the call to serve, Terry was a member of the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years where he helped countless people in their time of need as the Fire Captain.
While working at CEI and volunteering at the Fire Department, Terry welcomed two children, Todd and Megan. Without question, the role that Terry was born to fulfill was that of a father. His unconditional love, his unending wisdom, and his gentle guidance were constants. Contrary to Terry's belief that he was blessed to have them, Todd and Megan know that they were the ones blessed to call him dad.
Terry was a man of faith, and he lived his faith daily. His service to others was often witnessed as a youth group leader, a volunteer on mission trips, or by honoring veterans with flag boxes that he meticulously made in his workshop for those who answered the call to serve in the military. Even in times of challenge he was intentional to focus on the blessings in his life. He held steadfast to his faith, and he was unwavering in his belief in God's plan.
Terry's legacy lives on through his devoted wife Ceec of 56 years, his son and daughter-in-law Todd and Maryke Bard, his daughter and son-in-law Megan and Sam Haas, and his 4 grandchildren (Tristan Bard, Brody Bard, Owen Haas, and Adeline Haas) whom he had infinite pride and love for.
Rest well good and faithful servant. The Kingdom Of God welcomes you.
