Terry Casady Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 23, 2013.
Terry Lee Casady, 56 of Orlando, FL peacefully passed on January 23, 2013 after a recent move to hospice care, after a year of aggressive cancer treatment including chemotherapy, radiation treatments and a stem cell transplant. Terry was brave and optimistic in spite of his prognosis, bringing a positive attitude and joy to those who loved and helped care for him. He often said his illness may eventually take his life but he wasn't going to give it a head start by being negative. Born February 7, 1956 in Williamson. W.Va., Terry experienced a much too short but full life that included his big appetite for knowledge and technology, frequent trips to the beach and caring deeply for those around him including full-time care of his mother and grandchildren, until he was no longer able to do so. Terry graduated from Colonial High School, in Orlando, Florida. He honorably served his country in the US Army, being discharged in 1975. Terry went on in his life to pursue many interests including paralegal studies, but eventually found his passion for computers. He quickly became known as an adept Computer Network Administrator for businesses of all sizes nationwide. He owned and operated his own computer support company named Computer Maintenance and was active in its day to day operations until he needed to devote his full attention and energies into his anticipated recovery. Terry may best be remembered by some for his passion for computers, ability to teach and educate those around him and lengthy, any hour of the day or night tech support calls. The problem was always eventually solved, but you also learned more than you ever really wanted to know. These encounters also always gave you an opportunity to learn just a bit more about Terry than you did before and to respect him even more as a professional, dedicated and intelligent worker and leader. Terry is survived by: Adoptive Mother/Aunt, Viola Marcum- McBride of Virginia, Birth Father, Kyle Casady (Hilda), Ohio, Daughter, Christina Casady, and Son, Terry Casady, Jr., both of Florida and their mother, Glena (predeceased), Daughter, Lisa Sears (Josh), St. Louis, Mo., and Son, David Casady of Florida and their mother, Amy, Sister, Lois Giovagnorio of Florida, and Brothers, Charles Marcum (Kai), Florida; Edward Marcum (Sunny) of Virginia; Larry Marcum (Linda) of Tennessee; Grand Children: Jaycee and Jeremiah Casady and Kai Sears; A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and, extended family Jay Smith & Chris Reeves, both of Florida Colleagues close to Terry say his life as a whole looking back will be considered a good one because in the end, he gave his all and his heart was full of love. A truer testament to the type of man Terry was could not be made. A memorial service will be held to honor Terry's life and memory on Saturday, February 9th at 10:00am at the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Ossuary Garden located at 2400 Harrell Rd., Orlando, FL. 32817. Terry would want those who want to remember and honor him to make donations in lieu of flowers to the Mike Conley Hospice House, 2100 Oakley-Seaver Rd., Clermont, FL 34711 (http://cshospice.org/?about_us/inpatient-care-hospice-housesunits.html) who provided such professional care and comfort in his final days. He would also encourage everyone to learn more about stem cell transplant donation and research, a difficult and trying procedure, but one that offered him hope and helped sustain his positive outlook.
