Terry "Butch" Cleveland
December 15, 1948 - September 2, 2025
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry "Butch" Cleveland of Birmingham, Alabama.
Butch served in the United States Air Force as a Life Support Specialist during his tour in The Vietnam War.
Butch was affectionately known for his infectious laughter, kind spirit, and genuine love for others.
A man who loved God, Butch confessed Christ in his youth, at the First Baptist Church of Ensley, in Birmingham. He was dedicated to studying the Word of the Lord and tried to exemplify the Word in how he lived.
He regularly held Bible study in his home and took great joy in gifting Bibles to others so they could deepen their own understanding of the scriptures. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he touched countless lives by sharing God's love and wisdom.
Butch had a creative soul, expressing himself through poetry, ceramics, and his art of painting. He had a unique gift for making people smile, often with a well-timed joke, a witty respond or an amusing story. His love for life extended to his many hobbies, including fishing, cooking and playing pool, where he formed lasting memories with friends and family.
He was a man who gave freely of his time, love, and wisdom. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him, and his legacy of laughter, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
Butch's family was his greatest treasure. His parents, Lonnie and Mollie Partridge, as well as a sister, Lonnie Mae,
preceded him in passing.
He leaves sweet memories with three remaining brothers: James "Buffy" (Ida), Rodney "Private" and Steven "Big Steve" and one sister, Tracey (Dortry).
His daughter, Kenya and his four grandchildren, (Armani, Cameron, Antoine, and Teryn- Kennedy) were the apples of his eye. They will greatly miss him. Thank God for the care they provided during his illness and final days. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were blessed to know him.
Rest in peace, Butch. You will be dearly missed, but will forever hold a place in our hearts and memories.
