Funeral services for Mr. Terry Curtis Cox of Downsville, LA will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Art Beebe officiating. Interment will follow at Holmesville Cemetery in Downsville, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until 2:00PM Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the funeral home.
Mr. Terry was born August 28, 1955 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on April 7, 2023 in Downsville, LA at the age of 67. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many. Terry loved spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest pleasures in life was making others laugh and bringing joy into their lives. Terry spent many years playing baseball and touched the lives of many girls coaching softball. Terry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. His love of the outdoors and hunting led to him presiding as the president of Shelby Point Hunting Club for over 15 years, there he made many friends and memories with those he hunted with. He was a very patriotic person and loved his country with all his heart. Mr. Terry enjoyed dancing and music was a very important part of his life, he found it to be therapeutic. He was a talented pianist as well. Terry was a hard worker who was absolutely dedicated to each place he was ever employed. Terry loved the Lord and would let others know that he was abundantly blessed by God. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, T.W. and Lida Cox; and one brother-in-law, G.G. Shinn.
Those left to cherish his memory include: the love of his life, his fiancé, Debbie Burch; his daughters, Jessica Antley (Micah), and Kristen Mardis (Colby); his sister, Sandra Shinn; his brother, Tommy Cox (Doris); two grandchildren, Marlee Griffin and Mason Mardis; and his fur-babies, Bob and Freckles; he is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Lett, Jimmy Hembree, Cade Stone, Cody Stone, Blake Herrington, Nubbin Harrel, and Robert Welch.
Honorary pallbearers are Chris Nolan, Rock Smith, Richard Long, Jerry Hibbard, and Dale Kelly
