Terry Lyn Gorski

Terry Lyn (Standley) Gorski, 78, of Suffield, beloved wife of Richard J. Gorski, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Hartford Hospital.
Terry was born in West Seneca, NY, daughter of the late Virgil and Maxine (Briggs) Standley. She grew up in West Seneca, NY, and was a graduate of West Seneca West Senior High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Connecticut.
Terry met and married the love of her life, Richard Gorski, on January 23, 1971, and they lived in Maryland, before settling in Bristol, CT, where they raised a family. Terry worked as a Registered Nurse for Bristol Hospital and retired in 2012 after 34 years of service. In 2013 she moved to Myrtle Beach, SC with her husband where they began their retirement. She loved to travel and try new restaurants. She was an avid weather watcher, always following The Weather Channel and reporting upcoming events to her family and friends. Her most important accomplishment was her family. She cherished every moment she had to spend with her children and grandchildren. A kind, caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed.
Along with her husband of over 54 years, Richard, she leaves her daughters, Kera Pixton and her husband Keith of Suffield, and Shannon Gorski and her husband Maroun Azar of East Greenwich, RI, her grandchildren, Jack Pixton, Hannah Pixton, Nora Pixton, and Carter Pixton all of Suffield, her sister, Toni Bromley and her husband David of South Carolina, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Terri Gorski of Bristol, and her faithful rescue cat, Bentley.
Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. North (Rt. 159) Suffield. She will be laid to rest privately at Woodlawn Cemetery in Suffield.
