Terry Autry Hartle, 78, went to be with his heavenly Father on March 20, 2025. He passed away peacefully with his family lovingly by his side at Forsyth Medical Center. We will miss him terribly, but rejoice that he is now pain-free and with the Lord.
Terry was born on February 11, 1947, to Carey Reeves Hartle and Carrie Johnson Hartle in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He met the love of his life, Christine, in 1966. They married on November 20, 1967, and have been doing everything together for 57 years. For better or worse, in sickness and in health, they were always there for each other.
Terry worked for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and retired in 2003 with 32 years of service. He also loved to help people and served as a volunteer firefighter for most of his earlier years.
Terry was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his church family greatly. He always enjoyed his time at church and felt truly blessed there.
He enjoyed working on cars and making all kinds of projects. When not busy with those, he loved to play the guitar and sing. He liked to travel and enjoyed trips to the beach and mountains. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Terry was kind and fair, loved talking to people, was always willing to help anyone, and never met a stranger.
Surviving are his loving wife, Christine Chappel Hartle; daughters, Teresa Hartle Cotter and Tonya Hartle Long (Jimmy); grandchildren, Camden and Kailyn Long, Jonathan and Mason Cotter (and their father, Mark); brother, Larry Hartle, Sr. (Darlene); as well as extended family and many friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Hartle, Sr.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday evening, March 24, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, 6685 Shallowford Rd, Lewisville, NC 27023
