DATELINE:ONSTED, MICHIGAN
Terry Edward Helinski, passed from this earth on April 10th, 2024.
Terry was born on February 24th, 1954 in
Hudson, Michigan, the third son of Albert (Al) and Pauline (Polly) Helinski. He married his high school sweetheart Roxanne (Penny) Ruth Reinink on June 8th, 1974, and she survives. Terry and Penny would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this June, and Terry just enjoyed his 70th birthday this February.
Terry was a graduate of Onsted High School, Class of 1972. He primarily worked at the family business, Bernie's Cedar Haven, but also worked at Allied Moving company and Adrian Steel. He owned Helinski Homes and Excavation and built or remodeled numerous homes throughout his lifetime. He was known for his ability to do almost anything, which was usually in the service of his father-in-law Bernie or alongside his brother-in-law Barry, and was always working or lending a hand for anyone he could. In his retired years he enjoyed spending time with his wife Penny, traveling out of state for many adventures with his daughter Tara, son-in-law Josh, and granddaughters Cloie and Zoe. He loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren, and helped raise his grandson Gabriel. He and his son Clint loved to venture out to find the best Reuben or spend the weekend camping. A special moment in his life was giving his daughter Amanda away on her wedding day, and their beautiful father-daughter dance they shared. Though he may have been a man of few words, his dry humor and sarcasm were legendary, bringing laughter to those around him.
