Terry Joseph Hiserodt

Terry Joseph Hiserodt December 13, 1943 – September 17, 2025

Terry Joseph Hiserodt was born on December 13, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Margaret Budde Hiserodt and Fanz Joseph Hiserodt. He passed away peacefully at the age of 81.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Joseph Hiserodt, and his beloved wife of 22 years, Geraldine "Jerri" Baldridge Hiserodt. Terry is survived by his daughters, Terri Lee (Jimi Cagle) and Elizabeth Dethloff (Robb Dethloff), his son, James Hiserodt (Whitney Hiserodt), his stepson, Michael Jones (Maria Garcia) and his grandchildren, Dru Cagle, Braden Cagle, Wyatt Hiserodt and Scarlett Hiserodt. He is also remembered by his close friend & former wife, Dianna Murphy Hiserodt.

Terry grew up in New Orleans, in one of two homes built by his grandfather for his daughters and their families. Some of his most cherished memories came from family picnics and fishing trips on the waters of The Rigolets, a deepwater strait where Lake Pontchartrain and Lake St. Catherine meet.

He attended Ridgewood Preparatory School and later Tulane University, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering. During high school, Terry met Donna Mechling, who later became his wife in 1964. Their 17-year marriage was blessed with two daughters, Terri Lee and Elizabeth Marie.

In 1976, Terry relocated his family from Louisiana to Texas, to pursue a successful career in the gas and oil industry. A few years later, in 1982, Terry married Dianna Murphy. Together, they welcomed a son, James Joseph. He cherished their time in Boy Scouts and encouraged in James a lifelong love of food and cooking.

In 1994, Terry married Jerri Baldridge. Over the next two decades, they traveled the world together, from fly fishing in Montana to exploring the beaches of Australia. Their favorite destination was Kauai, where they returned for extended stays. After Jerri's passing from Alzheimer's in 2022, Terry's health declined as he faced vascular dementia, until his peaceful passing on September 17, 2025.

In keeping with his wishes, Terry's ashes will be scattered at The Rigolets, returning him to the waters where his happiest adventures began.
