Michael Patrick Glennon, age 67, of New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. After a courageous battle with appendiceal cancer, Michael surpassed all expectations, and his family is eternally grateful for the precious time they had with him.

Born on September 30, 1957, in New Orleans, LA, Michael was the son of the late William "Billy" A. Glennon Jr. and Mary Joan Wegmann. Michael attended St. Matthias grammar school. He graduated with honors from DeLaSalle High School in 1975 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University. Michael became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and worked for many years as a CPA at J K Byrne & Co. He later served as an Accounting Manager at Entergy, where he dedicated over 30 years of service before retiring in 2018.

Throughout his life, Michael formed lasting friendships and was known for his warm, engaging personality. He had a gift for making people laugh and never knew a stranger. His sense of humor and generosity of spirit endeared him to everyone who met him.

On May 13, 1989, Michael married his loving wife, Denise Anne Cioll, at St. Matthias Church in New Orleans, officiated by his uncle, Monsignor Raymond Wegmann. They shared a wonderful 36 years together, traveling the world and creating lasting memories with family and friends. Michael was immensely proud of his daughters, Megan Louise Glennon and Shannon Joan Glennon, both of whom graduated from medical school and began their residencies with their father by their side.

Michael had a deep love for golf, the New Orleans Saints, Tulane and LSU football, New Orleans cuisine, old tv shows and movies, The Beetles, and most of all his family and friends.

As a devout catholic, Michael was recognized for his dedicated service to the Catholic Community Foundation of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He also proudly attended and completed the FBI Citizens Academy in 2015.

Remaining to cherish Michael's memory are his wife, Denise Glennon; children, Megan Glennon, MD and Shannon Glennon, MD; stepmother, Susan Glennon; brothers, William "Billy" A. Glennon, III and Timothy Glennon (Lisa); sister, Kathleen Glennon; step sisters Kelly Commander (Derek), and Katy Sinor (Howard); in-laws, Nick Cioll (Amy) and Nancy Cioll (Michael); nieces and nephews, Cullen Glennon (Sarah), Molly Glennon Williams (Trey), Connor Glennon (Ellie), Lily Glennon, Cory Commander (Courtney), Madeline Commander, and Christian Commander; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish his memory.

Michael's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Preceding Michael in death are his parents, William "Billy" Glennon Jr. and Mary Joan Wegmann Buttigig (Buddy) and sister-in-law Karen Callais Glennon.

Visitation will be held Saturday September 27, 2025, from 10am to 12pm with Mass to follow at St. Rita Catholic Church 2729 Lowerline Street, New Orleans, LA 70125. A graveside service at St. Patrick Cemetery #3 will immediately follow the Funeral Mass.
