Terry Hunt Obituary

Terry Lee Hunt, the cherished husband of Pamela Hunt, passed away on February 17, 2026, entering the presence of his Savior and Lord. Terry will be remembered for the profound legacy he leaves behind-a legacy defined by his unwavering devotion to the Lord, his deep love for his family, and his commitment to hard work. His life was a testament to faith, dedication, and love, inspiring all who knew him.

Terry was born in McDonough, Georgia, on June 11th, 1951, to Ruth Chandler Hunt and Floyd Hunt. He was the youngest of six children, one of whom had passed away before his birth. Terry was adored by his four older sisters, Angelo, Martha Jean, Beth, and Pat.

Soon after his birth, the family moved to Roberta, Georgia. From a young age, Terry displayed a strong passion for farming and could often be found working alongside his father on the farm. His love for agriculture led him to join the Future Farmers of America (FFA), where he excelled in showing cows. This early experience paved the way for his first vocation as a livestock inspector with the state of Georgia.

In 1973, Terry met and married the love of his life, Pam, and together they built a life centered around faith and family. Not long after they married, Terry began a career in the electrical industry, eventually working and retiring from Southern Company at Plant Vogtle in 2013.

After retirement, he and Pam enjoyed many grand adventures together, traveling in their RV to every corner of the United States. They also spent many winters volunteering at Mistletoe State Park, where Terry helped with maintenance of the park.

An avid outdoorsman, Terry loved hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was his family. He was a constant figure for every event that his children or grandchildren were involved in. He also documented every special moment and many sunrises and sunsets with his camera. Whether it was a cross-country trip or a local ballgame, Terry was there behind the lens ensuring those memories-and the beauty he saw in every new day-would be preserved for those he loved.

Terry was a faithful member of Curtis Baptist Church. Whether he was driving the bus for the GAP ministry, serving as a deacon, working security, or acting as a prayer warrior, his mission was clear: he wanted everyone he met to know, follow and love Jesus.

Terry was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Ruth Chandler Hunt, his brother, Ronald Hunt, and his sister, Patricia Stewart. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pamela Hunt; daughter Nicholle and son-in-law Larry Bracken; son Lee and daughter-in-law Pam Hunt; grandchildren Taylor (Greg) Leaptrotte, Michael (Meghan) Bracken, Bethany Bracken, Hunter (Jillian) Bracken, Garrett (Kinsley) Hunt, Jordan Hunt, Melissa (Stewart) Wiggins, Seth (Tyler) Beason, Blake (April) Beason; great-grandchildren Amelia and Tripp Leaptrotte, Michael and Poppy Bracken; Owen, Kinsey, and Anna Beth Wiggins; Noah, Leah and Luke Beason; Silas, Abbi, Caroline, Amos Beason, sisters Angelo Terrell, Martha (Bill) Snelling, and Beth (Royce) Alday; Sister in Law Terri Sewall, Brother in Law Chuck (Deborah) Sewall and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Curtis Baptist Church, 1348 Broad Street, Augusta, Ga.
