Terry Lee Langston, of Buford, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Terry was born January 30, 1953 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Spencer Eugene Langston and Bettye Marlene Langston Snyder.
Terry was survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Smith Langston, daughter Terra Langston Morrow (Andrew), son Justin Tyler Langston (Kelly), his siblings Karen Langston Songer (Paul), Mark Langston (Penny), 11 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry married his high school sweetheart and together they built a life they cherished. He loved his family above all else and left a profound impact on his children, grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews. He had a remarkable gift of engaging and welcoming anyone into his home and his life, regularly treating his childrens friends like his own.
Terry had a lifelong love of sports. He enjoyed playing ALTA tennis for many years and coached several youth teams in basketball and baseball. And of course, his beloved alma mater, the great University of Georgia, and the Georgia Bulldogs were never far from his heart and mind.
Terrys faith in Jesus Christ was central to his life. He served as an ordained deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. His generosity would be legendary, except most of it was anonymous as he sought to meet needs of those less fortunate without accolades or attention.
Terry was a gifted storyteller and regularly regaled his listeners with tales of his fishing adventures with his dad and brother, glory days at LFO high school and UGA, giving his younger sister grief and every sport statistic you never knew you needed to know, leaving his audience dissolved in laughter. He was a natural leader and proud owner and operator of Atlantic Coast Candy until his retirement.
But of all the different hats he wore throughout his life, his favorite was that of "Pops" to his adoring grandchildren, who refer to him as the man, the myth, the legend.
Terry loved big and he loved well and will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to be in his life.
in lieu of flowers the family has set up a memorial fund in Terrys honor, to Young Life, a ministry that was near and dear to his heart.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 2 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory chapel in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. Family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 12 PM.
