Terry E. Mailander, 73, of Spalding, NE passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home near Spalding, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024, at St. Michael's Church in Spalding, NE with Fr. Lawrence Vadakkan and Deacon Ron Glaser officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Spalding, NE. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

Terrence Eugene Mailander was born in Spalding, NE on May 23, 1950 to Eugene and Angela (Pfeifer) Mailander. He was baptised at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spalding. Terry attended Spalding Academy graduating in 1968. In high school he played football and wrestled earning the nickname Bruno. After graduation he went to college at Creighton University in Omaha, until his father's passing in 1969. Then he moved back to Spalding to help his mother on the family farm.
In 1970, he met Mary Lee Miller and married her on September 2, 1972, at St. Michael's Church in Albion, NE. He and Mary later purchased the family farm and raised their two children Chad and Jessica.
Terry was a Brand Inspector for the State of Nebraska for over 30 years. He was a cattleman raising Black Angus cattle and raised quarter horses. Terry enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandson, hunting, time with his family, and the occasional card game. He was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Church in Spalding and a member of St. Michael's Men's Club, Angus Association, and American Quarter Horse Association.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mary Lee Mailander of Spalding, NE; daughter: Jessica (Jared) McIntyre of Lincoln, NE; grandson: Jett McIntyre of Lincoln, NE; brother: Mark (Mary Sue) Mailander of Spalding, NE; sister: Janet (Greg) Fletcher of Grove, OK; two sisters-in-law: Rhonda and Fran; and many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son: Chad; parents; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Earl and LaVonna Miller.
