Terry Eugene Maxfield, 68, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 4, 1957 in Danville to the late Harry and Janet (Krieg) Maxfield.
Terry attended North White High School and worked at Champion Parts rebuilding automotive parts until he was injured in a motorcycle accident in his early twenties. He made Monticello Healthcare his home and the staff became his extended family whom he loved and enjoyed very much. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, and shooting pool. Above all, he loved his family and conversation.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello.
Surviving are his siblings, Curt (Julie) Maxfield of Portage, Teresa Thompson (companion, Jim Sullivan) of Monticello, Darla (Paul) Goodner of Noblesville, Karen (Joe) Rush of Monticello, Trisha McMannis of Crawfordsville, and Joanie (Tracey) Schrick of Lafayette; many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and a great-great nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew and a great nephew.
A memorial service celebrating Terry's life at 11:00 am Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Father Dan Duff of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
