Terry Gene McLeod, a beloved husband, devoted stepfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at his home on March 8, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on May 14, 1960, in Harnett County, Terry lived a rich life filled with passion and warmth.
His family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc., located at 301 W. Main St., Benson, NC 27504.
Terry is survived by his wife, Claudette Byrd McLeod, with whom he shared seven wonderful years of marriage. He was a proud stepfather to David Horne and Cassie Chancy, and he found joy in the laughter and love of his nine step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. He is also remembered fondly by his mother-in-law, Sue Byrd, two brothers-in-law, Doyle and Gene Byrd, and a sister-in-law, Connie Little.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene McLeod and Darlene Smith McLeod, whose memories will live on through the family they raised.
Terry's personality shone brightly in all that he did. He had a deep passion for riding motorcycles, feeling a sense of freedom and adventure each time he hit the open road. His love for animals was evident in the way he spent time with his mules and the special bond he formed with his German shepherd dogs, whom he trained with care and affection.
Terry will be remembered not only for his zest for life but also for the love and kindness he extended to those around him. His legacy will continue on in the hearts of all who knew him.
