Terry Reece Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Oct. 15, 2025.
Reverend Terry Lee Reece, Sr., a beloved Pastor, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 13, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on October 17, 1948 in Marietta, Georgia and his funeral will be on his 77th birthday, October 17, 2025.
Terry was a former Boy Scout, and a United States Army Veteran who was a Sergeant in the Vietnam Era. A graduate of Jonesboro High School, Albany Bible College, Brewton Parker College, Tift College, International Bible Institute of Seminary, Mercer University, South Georgia Technical College, and the University of Georgia School of Law. He was chosen for the Outstanding Young Men of America Award in 1980. Terry was also an elected Magistrate Judge for Montgomery County, GA.
Terry was called into the Ministry while serving in the Military. He gave his heart and life to his calling. Terry lived in a suit and tie 24/7, always ready to head out the door if he was needed; his Bible always resting next to him. No matter what the conversation was, he would find a way to bring it around to the Grace and Glory of the Lord. Terry lived his life by J.O.Y.: Jesus First, Others Second, Yourself Third "and don't you forget it!" If you knew him personally, then you knew this message very well. He was a pillar of strength for his family, church family, and community. Even in his final days, Terry remained faithful to his calling as a pastor, preaching his last sermon on Sunday, September 28, 2025, still wanting to share his message of J.O.Y.
Terry was the epitome of what a Good Man, Father, Husband, and Christian should be. He was tall in stature with a Pastoral voice that commanded attention, yet was so gentle and comforting as he prayed for you. His kind eyes and infectious smile felt like a gift when you were in his company. His knowledge of law, Bible, and the Georgia Bulldogs were unmatched. He's left an indelible mark on the hearts of those that love him but find great solace in the knowledge that his life's mission is complete. Terry was welcomed into his Heavenly Home and heard the words we all long for, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Terry was a devoted husband and father. He and his late wife, Christine "Sister Honey", were married for 28 years. Together, they raised three children and offered a home and refuge for thirteen foster children. Terry considered it an honor to be an earthly father to many and never took lightly that responsibility. He was known not only as a "Pastor", but Dad, Paw Paw and PaPa. He was loved by his many sons and daughters that he took under his Fatherly wing along his journey, touching their lives with his compassion, loyalty, and capacity to love. Three years after his wife passed, Terry married Constance, his wife of 21 years, and helped raise her daughter. He was a loving father, always there to offer guidance, wisdom, and a hearty laugh. He cherished his family and loved them with all his heart.
Terry was predeceased by his wife Christine, his father Joe, his mother Betty Jo, his mother-in-law Eloise, his father-in-law Stan, and many others. He is survived by his loving wife, Constance, his children, Veronica, Lee (Amanda), Kristi (Seth), Tiffany, and Meredith; six Grandchildren; and one Great-Grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty and Joe (Teresa), as well as many nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly
