Terry Allen Smith

Terry Allen Smith, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on March 13, 2026, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born on February 22, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Thomas F. Smith and Gearldean (Hert) Smith. On November 14, 2024 Terry Married Sandy Putman in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Terry was a life-time resident of Polar Bluff, and a member of Cross Street Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting, watching wildlife, and riding four wheelers. He especially loved to spend time with his family.

Terry is survived by his wife, Sandy Smith; one son, Nathan Harris; three daughters, Betsy (Randy) Watson, Sara (John) Smith, and Erica (Sierra) Handschumcher; one brother, Rodney (Lori) Smith; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Dustin Putman; one daughter, Brandy Smith; his parents, Thomas and Gearldean Smith; two brothers, Franklin Smith, Larry Smith, and Phillip Smith; and one sister Donna Forsythe. A host of family and friends survive.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 5-7p.m. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Summers officiating. Interment will follow funeral service at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
