Terry Wade Springle passed away April 12, 2025. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Richard Davis and Betty Nurse Springle. He grew up in Norfolk and Virginia Beach with his older sister Nancy Joyce and brother, Richard Davis Springle.
Terry attended Cox High School and then obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a teaching certificate from Old Dominion University in 1972. He earned a Master's degree in communication from Norfolk State University in 1978. While at Cox High School, he met his wife, Mary Blossom, and they were married August 12, 1972. In 1973, Terry and Mary moved to Northampton County on Virginia's Eastern Shore, where he taught middle school and then high school mathematics. In 1984, the family moved to Worcester County where he continued teaching along with coaching and advising for student council at Pocomoke High School. He taught for 37 years and enjoyed 14 years of retirement.
Terry was a father, grandfather, teacher, coach and mentor. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Mary, brother Richard, sister-in-law Bonny, and children- Robert Springle (Kristina), Greg Springle (Karalyn Jean), Kate Springle, Clara Outten (Troy), and Martha Swanson (David). He is also survived by foster daughter, Pamela Parks (Daniel), and 12 grandchildren, 4 foster grandchildren, and 3 foster great-grandchildren.
Terry had many interests. In his "spare time" he built houses and helped his brother, son, daughter, and cousin build houses, too. He enjoyed singing and gardening, playing tennis, and was a wonderful cook. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, jet ski, and going out on the boat, especially with his children and grandchildren. Whether he was your family member, teacher, tennis coach, student council advisor, debate team advisor, flying club advisor, PTA president, Northampton County Teacher's association president or Worcester County Teacher's association president, you knew you were loved and cared for.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 1pm at the Pocomoke Community Center. Feel free to wear casual and brightly colored clothes in honor of all the love and light that Terry brought to this world.
Donations may be made to the charity of your choosing.

Terry was a dear, dear friend since high school. He and Mary helped our family sort having a brood of children. You all made it a delight. Terry will be sorely missed. Carol Hart
