Terry Lee Valentine was born in Circleville, Ohio to Alice Marie Alexander Valentine and Leland Valentine. He attended and graduated from Circleville High School and resided in Circleville for the majority of his life. Terry had a long and distinguished career in the United States Navy and the United States Naval Reserve that began in 1967 during the Vietnam Conflict. He served for over 20 years. His love for the Navy and for his service to the country was obvious in everything he did. He was a true patriot. During his Naval career, he met and married the love of his life, M. Suzanne” Sue” Valentine. They remained at each other’s side for the next 26 years, until Sue passed away in 2006. Terry’s love and affection for Sue sustained him for the duration of his life and many who knew him can tell you that not a day went by that Terry didn’t mention Sue. After completing his service with the Navy, Terry had several jobs, but he was most proud and satisfied with his career as an over the road semi-truck driver. He drove for several trucking companies until he retired.

Terry was a proud member of the local VFW and AMVETS where he spent a lot of time wiling away the hours with fellow veterans over a meal and a few beers.

Just walking into his house, you immediately knew that Terry was a huge Cleveland Browns fan. He spent many Sunday afternoons glued to his TV cheering on the Browns. Win or lose, it didn’t matter to Terry. He loved his Browns.

Terry was known to many as a “giver”. He was happy to help people in need whenever he could and sometimes even when he couldn’t.

He was quick to tell a joke and make people laugh. It was his gift to make people happy. He enjoyed an evening by the fire pit with friends and cooking out on the grill. His heart was never fuller than when he was helping others and making people laugh.

Terry left behind a legacy of telling jokes, making people laugh and genuine love for the people who were in his life. He was a Godly man who accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. In the waning days and moments of his life, Terry was surrounded by family and friends until the Lord closed his eyes and called him to Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alice and Leland Valentine, his beloved wife Sue Valentine and his daughter Michelle Valentine.

He is survived by a host of family and friends who will remember him fondly.

“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Heavenly Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
