Terry, 70, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on October 30, 2025. Terry was born April 1, 1955 in Denver, Colorado to Norman and LaVon Venard. He graduated from Westminster High School in 1973, and then attended the University of Colorado, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1978. During his collegiate years, Terry began working for United Airlines. He remained devoted to United Airlines up to his death, just before his 47th anniversary with the company. He developed many meaningful relationships with coworkers during his time there. Terry met his wife, Janet, a fellow University of Colorado alum, while working at United. They were married in October of 1993, and welcomed their daughter, Anna, in 1998. Throughout his life, Terry found great joy through sports. He discovered a love for golf in high school, and was an avid Colorado sports fan. He especially enjoyed attending University of Colorado football games with Janet and their friends, and was a loyal season ticket holder for nearly 40 years. Terry was passionate about watching Anna play volleyball and traveled often to attend her high school and club games, as well as numerous collegiate games along the East Coast. Working for an airline allowed for many opportunities to travel, and Terry found much pleasure in taking family trips around the country. Along the way, he documented these travels and the many sporting events attended, turning them into detailed photo albums and scrapbooks full of fond memories. Being a Colorado native, Terry loved to spend time outdoors exploring and hiking in the Rocky Mountains, gardening in his yard at home, and, in his younger years, fishing with his grandpa. Terry was an avid wildlife advocate and animal lover, and cared for beloved family pets throughout his life.
Terry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet; daughter, Anna Venard; mother LaVon Venard; brother, Randy (Becky) Venard; and sister, Tamme (Eric Gutzait) Venard. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman. Terry touched the lives of many. He loved his family very much, and was a committed father, husband, and son. Terry requested cremation and no services be held. In Terry’s memory, memorial gifts may be made to Rocky Mountain Conservancy, PO Box 3100, Estes Park, CO 80517; https://rmconservancy.org/join-or-give/donate/.
