Terry Winter, 68, of George Iowa, passed away at George Good Samaritan Society. A lifelong resident of George, graduating in 1976. He was a farmer and embodied the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. He believed in working hard and playing hard, and he brought that same determination and energy to every part of his life.
Terry spent his life on the land he loved, committed to farming and the rhythms of rural life. Farming was more than a livelihood to him—it was who he was. Known for his strong work ethic and straightforward nature, Terry earned the respect of those who knew him through both his actions and his character. In the past he also worked at Sudenga Industries of George.
Family was deeply important to Terry. He especially loved watching his nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews play, finding joy in their laughter, energy, and everyday moments. Those simple times meant a great deal to him and reflected his quiet, caring nature.
Through all of Terry's health issues, he never complained and met each challenge with strength and courage, facing adversity with dignity and resilience.
Above all else, Terry was a devoted brother. He was proud to be "the best brother," a role he took seriously and fulfilled with loyalty, humor, and unwavering support. He is survived by his sisters, Rhonda (Bob) Kruse and Cheryl (Kyle) Peters; 7 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews; and stepmother, Erma Winter, who will forever cherish his presence, guidance, and love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harm and Adeline (Wagenaar) Winter; 2 infant sisters, Lola and Lynelle; and grandparents, George and Tena Winter, and Andrew and Lena Wagenaar.
Terry will be remembered for his strength, his honesty, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the land he worked, the family he loved, and the many lives he touched.
