Tex Bayouth

Ralph Tex Bayouth was born in Wellington, Texas, July 22, 1937. Tex passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 with his three loving daughters and family surrounding him with love. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, devotion, and a deep appreciation of family values. Tex was the son of Solomon Habeeb and Salwa Horany Andeel Bayouth, both immigrants who bravely embarked on a journey from Lebanon seeking a future filled with hope, opportunity, and the pursuit of a new life in America. He was he youngest of 11 children and the only sibling not born in Oklahoma. His early years were influenced by the traditions and culture of Lebanon. He carried his parents' values of the love of God, family, hard work, and community service which became a cornerstone of a well-lived life. The family returned to Collinsville, OK in 1939 where his family owned Bayouth's Department Store. It was in Collinsville that Tex made many lifelong friends. He attended Collinsville High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He graduated with the Class of 1955 and attended his 70th Class Reunion in June of this year. He attended Northeastern State for one year and played basketball. He then transferred to Oklahoma A & M. Tex eloped with the love of his life, Carrie Moody on December 18, 1957. Tex and Carrie moved their family to Cushing, OK in 1961 and owned Bayouth's Men's Wear until 1966. In 1966, they moved to Hominy and bought Bayouth's Department Store from his brothers. His store was a gathering place for friends and customers with food always in the back room for all to enjoy. Tex and Carrie owned and operated Bayouth's Insurance Agency for many years. He served as Hominy City Manager from 2002-2014. Like his dad and brothers, he became deeply involved in the community. In Cushing, he served as VP of the Lion's Club, VP of Cushing Cerebral Palsy Board, President of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce Board and on the Cushing Retail/Trade Committee. After moving to Hominy, he became active in his new community. Through the years, he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, President of the Kiwanis Club, President of the Hominy Buck Booster Club. He also served on the Executive Council-Tulsa Area Health and Hospital Planning Council, Osage County Mental Health Board, Osage County Industrial Board, Bluestem TB & Respiratory Disease Board of Directors, INCOG Board of Directors, Hominy Hospital Board of Directors, Hominy/Fairfax Health Clinic Board Member, OSU Athletics Fundraising Area Coordinator, OSU Posse Club Board Member and Creek County VoTech Board. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on both the Administrative Board and the Board of Trustees. He loved Hominy and supported his city and the Hominy Public Schools. He never met a stranger and loved everyone he met. He was a sports fanatic. He never lost his love for the Hominy Bucks and OSU Athletics. He was the longest Hominy Buck season ticket holder, having tickets since 1966 and never missed a game. He was an OSU season ticket holder for over 60 years and loved the NY Yankees. He loved his family unconditionally and his face would light up when his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren entered the room. He was a kind soul, he kept a meticulous yard, he found joy in simple pleasures and enriched our lives with his presence.

Tex is survived by his three loving daughters, Debbie Favell and husband John, Dana Hull, Danelle Higgins and husband Larry. Missing their Giddo are, Christopher DeLong and wife, Lisa, Courtney Davis and husband Ben, Blake Formby and husband Bo, Chelsea Christian and husband Caleb, Cassidy Payne and husband, Luke. He adored his precious, great grandchildren, Gage, Eden and Isla DeLong, Hudson, Sloane and Holden Tex Davis, Reece, Bowen, and Dixie Formby, Crew, Carsyn, Charlee Jo and Champ Christian and Remi Payne, his brother-in-law, Jerry Moody, his sister-in-law Sue Austin and husband Danny, sister-in-law, Suad Bayouth and many nieces and nephews who love and adored him. He will also be missed by Stacy, Stan, Mason & Kylie, Lauren McCabe and Brian, Elizabeth and Braden Favell.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Carrie, his son-in-law, Russell Hull, his parents Salwa and Sol Bayouth, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Letha and Howard Moody and his siblings and their spouses: Bill & Jody Bayouth, Louise & Bill Farris, Kay & Gloria Bayouth, Bus Bayouth, Inez and Harlen Jones, Juanita & Jake Jorishie, Eddie & Mildred Bayouth, Emile & Katie Bayouth, Dee & George Sallee, & JoAnn & Jimmie Naifeh and sister-in-law, Barbara Moody.

His was a life well-lived and he was a man well-loved. Funeral services will at the Russell Hull Gymnasium, 611 N. Eastern, Hominy, OK on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Charlie Graves of the First United Methodist Church of Hominy officiating. In memory of Tex, please wear purple and white or orange and black.
