Tex Emma Doughty, 90 of Valley View, Texas passed away on April 2, 2025 in Denton, Texas. Tex Emma was born on February 8, 1935 to Roy Alton Sparkman and Alma Lou (Tuggle) Sparkman. She married Joe Sheldon Doughty on April 11, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. Tex Emma was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ for many years and loved her church and church family. Tex Emma worked at the Gainesville State School as an Accountant. She loved to quilt, work in her flower beds and work in the yard. Tex Emma also loved going to Port Aransas and picking up shells off the beach and drinking her Pepsi. Her best time was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tex Emma is survived by son: Kenneth Doughty and wife, Terry; son, Joseph Alton Doughty; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Joe Sheldon Doughty; daughter, Melinda Cloer; sisters, Sallie Lones and Judy Meyer; beloved sister-in-law, Brenda Sparkman; great-grandchildren; Katie Doughty and Taylor Doughty.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10:00am at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas. A visitation will be held also at Meador Funeral Home on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Interment to follow service at New Hope Cemetery, Mt. Springs, Texas.
