Thad Michael Johnson

Thad Michael Johnson, age 50, of Osceola, WI, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Thad was born on December 8, 1973 the eldest son of Loren and Gail (Wanie) Johnson. He grew up on the family farm near Wanderoos, WI. He graduated from Amery High School Class of 1992; he later went on to pursue his Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Northwestern University graduating in 2009. He married Lisa Gieser on October 14, 2006. They later divorced but remained good friends.
Thad worked several jobs most notably, Bosch, St. Croix Harley and S.M.C. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bon fires, but more than anything riding his motorcycle.
He struggled early on with addiction but found sobriety and had been proudly sober for over 26 years, sponsoring and mentoring many along the way.
Thad was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Deronda. But his relationship with Christ was solidified in his sobriety and he became a member of Living Word Church, Forest, WI where he found his home and church family.
He is survived by his father, Loren; brother, Nathan; uncles; aunts; cousins; Lisa Johnson and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Gail; and his longtime friend and sponsor, Jim Peterson.
Funeral Services will take place at 11 am on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Living Word Chapel in Forest, WI (2746 WIS-64 Glenwood City, WI) with a visitation beginning at 9 am at the church. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Deer Lake Winery in St. Croix Falls, WI (1721 US-8St Croix Falls, WI) beginning at 1 pm. A private burial will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in East Farmington, WI.
