Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, August 28, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Laverne was born September 3, 1947 in Leesville, LA and was a lifelong resident of Call.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Ellis Atchison; children, Kayla Mobly, Gwendolyn "Carma" Puente, Janice and Missy Hise, Edward and Regina Nichols, Dale Atchison, Ila "Candy" Atchison, Bridgette and Melissa Moore, Nancy and Julio Pacheco, and Kristin and Aaron Collins; siblings, Wanda and Jermiah Murphy; Bertha and Mark Baker; James and Nancy Kay; Lillian and Allen Simmons, Martha and Doug McNeely, Sharon and Billy Laurent, and Pam and Edwin McCollough; sister-in-law, Cindy Kay; grandchildren, Megan and Corey McKee, Angel Reyes, Jaci and Joe Hudspeth, Michael Puente, Emily Westbrook, Catherine Montelongo, Jose and Rae Medrano, Jessica and Josh Rogers, Dustin and Lindsey Nichols, Shelton Nichols, Rylee Nichols, Colton Nichols, Carly and Bryce Powell, Kayla Dryden, Maranda Cochran, Joseph Cochran, Jason Cochran, Josiah Pacheco, Ay'Jahnne Kay, Mallory Collins, Brittany and Patrick Sepulvado, Brett Collins, and Linda Waters; great grandchildren, Chris Nichols, Daniel and Makenzie Nichols, Raven Nichols, Emmanuel Nichols-Hernandez, Alex Bellows, Kenya Robinson, Isabella McKee, Kianna and Carter Hersom, Brayden Hudspeth, Olivia Hudspeth, Wesley Busby, Abigail Maynard, Grant Rogers, Bethany Nichols, Jennifer Nichols, Easton Nichols, Maddilyn Nichols, Ollie Nichols, Lee Nichols, Kase Stephens, Cooper Powell, Waylon Powell, Wylder Powell, Olivia Cochran, Harper Sepulvado, Heidi Sepulvado and Wren Collins; 4 great-great grandchildren, Harley Nichols, Waylon Maynard, Emberlynn Maynard and Kenleigh Robinson;.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Thelma Kay; brothers, Buford Rae Kay and Jerry Lee Kay; and granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Atchison.
