Thelma Jean Collins, born on February 19, 1946, in McCormick, South, peacefully departed this world on 27, 2025, at the age of 79, in Augusta, Georgia. A devoted retiree from her heartfelt career as a Nursing Assistant at Augusta Garden Assisted Living Center, Thelma spent her life embodying compassion and dedication to those in her care.

Throughout her professional journey, Thelma nurtured countless individuals, offering not only her medical skills but also her warm spirit and infectious smile. It was the personal connections she forged that left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her passion for caring extended far beyond her occupation; it was a reflection of her generous soul.

Thelma had an undeniable zest for life. She cherished her roots, with the vibrant culture of her birthplace in McCormick remaining a cherished part of her identity. Her gentle nature and kind heart touched the lives of many, making her not just a caregiver, but a friend and confidante to those she served.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life during a memorial service scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901. This will be a time to honor the unwavering love Thelma shared with everyone she encountered - a testament to her legacy of kindness and service.

Though she may no longer walk among us, Thelma Jean Collins’ spirit and the profound impact she had on her community will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved and knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered for the light she brought into the world.
