Thelma Summers Obituary
Thelma Louise Summers, 74, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2024. Born on January 20, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William Cavey, Sr. and Mary Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Summers; brother, Tom Cavey; and son-in-law Timothy Shafer.
Thelma was a caring soul who loved helping others. She was a long-time member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ in Hagerstown.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Tina Shafer, and Holly Bell (Kevin); brother, Steven Cavey (Anne); seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, 201 N Potomac St, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
