Theodore "Ted" James Bankers, age 72 of Brook Park, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, peacefully at home with Kim by his side holding his hand, ready to let Jesus take his other hand; after a courageous battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is now with the Lord, pain free with no more suffering. If you confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Ted was born on March 27, 1953, at the Kanabec Hospital in Mora to Raymond and Agnes (Tatro) Bankers. He grew up on the family farm near Mora and attended Quamba school through the 6th grade. He graduated from Mora High School in 1971.
Ted met the love of his life, Kim Kubat of Pine City, and they were married at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on Valentine's Day in 1981. They built a home near Mora and were blessed with two sons, Nicholas and Daniel.
Ted was a hard worker and a dedicated provider to his family, working as a truck driver for over 35 years. He drove for Fingerhut, Town & Country Oil, and finally Holiday Gas before retiring.
Ted was an avid outdoorsman and loved deer hunting with his sons, both bow and rifle. He enjoyed many hobbies including riding motorcycles with Kim, snowmobiling with the entire family, and fishing in nearby lakes and rivers in summer, as well as smelting and ice fishing. At the end of the day, Ted enjoyed sitting by the fire admiring his lawn, in which he took great pride. He loved watering Kim's flowers. He and Kim loved 4-wheeling around Pomroy and Quamba lakes and picking pussy willows in the spring. Travel involved many trips to state park campgrounds including Yellowstone and Glacier National Park, Branson, Missouri, and Washington state to name a few.
Ted and Kim became active members at True Vine Lutheran Church in Mora and loved worshiping on Sunday mornings and then dancing together at Mr. Jim's in Foley in the afternoons. Ted will be dearly missed by his loving wife Kim, his family and friends. He will always be with us in mind and heart.
The family wishes to extend a big thank you to Welia Hospital, St. Croix hospice for all their wonderful care and all the people who sat with Ted, prayed, sang, brought food, and helped in any way. Special thanks to Andy Hickle for taking such good care of us and the lawn all summer. You are all Jesus' Servants.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Agnes Bankers, son Daniel Bankers, and sister Debra Smith
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kim; son Nicholas Bankers and wife Ashley (Chase) of Braham; 3 granddaughters Lydia, Emma and Elsie; siblings, Steve (Sandy) Bankers, JoAnn (Randy) Golly, and Paulette Bankers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick (Linda) Kubat, Kevin (Joy) Kubat, and Brian (Monica) Kubat; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
