Theodore Bannister, affectionately known as "Larry or Ted," departed this life peacefully on July 25, 2025, just nine days after the passing of his beloved wife, Adrienne Bannister. Ted was born on January 16, 1955 to the late Theodore and Betty Bannister. The year was a time of great change and growth in America-just as the civil rights movement began stirring across the nation-Theodore carried that same spirit of resilience and passion throughout his life.

Educated in the public school system, Theodore graduated from Forest Park High School in 1973. He developed a love for learning early on, which remained with him throughout his life. A man of many hats, he held various jobs to include a truck driver for Books for Fun and an independent contractor for Valet Waste. Ted's most notable service came through his time in the military and his dedicated career as a corrections officer at the Patuxent Institute in Jessup, MD. Through it all, he served with discipline, integrity, and commitment.

Theodore had an undeniable love for jazz music-his guitar was often in hand as he played with a local band, sharing his joy through soulful melodies. A true man of leisure and reflection, he enjoyed fishing, relaxing with his favorite Chinese food, and spending time watching TV-especially sports, which he loved to debate passionately with his son.

A lifelong learner, Theodore was an avid reader and had a deep appreciation for African American history and culture. He never missed an opportunity to encourage young adults to pursue their education and become the best version of themselves. His words were not only wise but impactful.

On July 29, 1979 surrounded by family and friends, Theodore married the love of his life, Adrienne Chisholm. Their union was a testament to love, loyalty, and partnership. Together, they raised their devoted son, Brandon Bannister, with values rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Some of the sweetest memories shared between the three were nights filled with laughter, lively sports debates, and heartfelt conversations.

Theodore is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Adrienne. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving son, Brandon Bannister, and a host of family members, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his wisdom, and humor.

Interment Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery 11501 Garrison Forest Rd. Owings Mills, Maryland 21117.
