Theodore Ellis “Ted” Cripe, 83, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home. He was born June 9, 1941, in Frankfort to Tom and Florence “Peggy” (Corns) Cripe. He married Sandra Kay Lockard on October 20, 1962. She preceded him in passing on July 5, 2023.
Ted attended Frankfort Senior High School. He worked several jobs over his years, including Cripe’s pure oil and wrecker service, Godby Heating and Cooling, Davis Homes, Federal Mogul, and was the owner of 4T’s Heating and Cooling. He attended Michigantown Christian Church and was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge. Ted enjoyed camping in his RV with his family, gardening, fishing, and bowling. He was a hardworking man and loved keeping busy. He loved his family and making memories with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his storytelling- fact or fiction- he loved to tell stories.
Ted is survived by his children, Ted (Karen) Cripe, Tom Cripe, Toby Cripe, and TJ (Jennifer) Cripe; siblings, Earl (Donna) Cripe, Janice (Bob) Reed, and Peggy Bitner; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Along with his wife of 60 years, he was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Janet Heidt and Donna Carter.
Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2025, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Whiteman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
