Theodore P. “Ted” Gorski, 94, of Seaford, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born on June 7, 1930 in Thunderbolt, Georgia, he was one of eight children born to the late Tillie Tobat Gorski and Teleswood “Taylor” Gorski.
Ted attended the local schools and graduated from East New Market High School with the class of 1947.
On September 8, 1948 Ted joined the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He toured in Eschewege, Germany and spent 13 1/2 weeks there. While stationed in Germany, he received the Army of Occupation Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After serving his four years, Ted was honorably discharged with the Rank of E-4.
On December 5, 1969 Ted married the former Ann Reid and together shared a beautiful life.
Ted retired from the State of Maryland as an OSHA Inspector.
After retirement, he and Ann owned and managed an RV Park in Naples, Florida and spent their winters in the sunshine state. He also owned and operated auto car sales business in Cambridge and was known to restore a few. He developed Autumn Grove in Rhodesdale, MD. In his spare time he enjoyed boating and fishing. He was a member of the Hurlock American Legion and the VFW Post #7460.
Ted was a man who never sat still and at 94 years old he continued to be active. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Ted is his wife Ann; daughters Sharon Gorski Wilson and her husband Steve, Jennifer Gorski Bowden and her fiancé Dave Horton; granddaughter Mandy Fleishman(Jacob); great grandchildren Kylee, Kellen and Kolby Fleishman; brother’s John Gorski (Donna) and Joseph Gorski; sister-in-law Linda Gorski; brothers & sisters-in-law Dennis & Therese Reid, Brooks & Jan Parker, Ricky Reid and Jeff & Bonnie Reid; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in his death besides his parents is a granddaughter Katie Foxwell Murray; sister Irene Gorski Blake; brothers James, William, David and Jerome Gorski; sister-in-law Barbara Gorski and brother-in-law David Reid.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 beginning 11:00 a.m. at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Beulah with military honors. Officiating will be Pastor Barbara Mills.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s name can be sent to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
