Theodore "Ted" John Gulczynski Jr., 82, of Clifton passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born on December 2, 1942 in Bradley, a son of Theodore and Frances "Flossie" (Chambers) Gulczynski Sr. Ted married Evelyn Jean Butler in Clifton on December 3, 1966 and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2011.
Ted is survived by three daughters, Deb (Ron) Meents of Ashkum, Jackie (Trent) Chockley of Rushville, and Kim (Matt) Marcukaitis of Bourbonnais; one brother-in-law, Jodee Benoit of Kankakee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Ted was preceded in death by both of his parents; four sisters, Patricia Clary, Jackie Hammond, Janice Miller, and Marybeth Benoit; and one son, Timothy Gulczynski.
Ted was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clifton. He was a previous member of the Knights of Columbus, Clifton Lions, Clifton Fire Department, and was an EMT. Ted also enjoyed golfing and worked for BASF in Kankakee as a supervisor. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. with the visitation to follow from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 all at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clifton with Fr. Doug Hauber officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Clifton.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
