Theodore Ralph "Ted" Linton, 80, of English, Indiana passed away peacefully Friday May 30, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana, surrounded by several members of his family.

He was born on August 25, 1944, in English, Indiana, to William Riley Linton and Gladys Gwendolyn (Reasor) Linton.

Ted was a believer of the Christian Faith. He regularly offered to help people who were marginalized, and he appreciated God's creation in nature.

He held a master's degree in education and dedicated his life to teaching, inspiring countless students with his passion, creativity, and pragmatic style of teaching and learning. He taught English, French, and journalism. He was a talented director of numerous plays and musicals, bringing out the best in every student actor. Ted taught and coached at various Indiana schools including Pioneer, Crawford County, Pike Central, Western Boone, and West Washington.

During his retirement, Ted enthusiastically directed the Crawford County Community Band, bringing many generations of people together to enjoy music and fellowship.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Todd Linton, and his siblings, Betty Forbes, Edgar Linton, Blanche Hall, and Lillie Hammond.

Ted is survived by his children, Thad (Debbie) Linton, Taunya Linton, Tobyn (Kristen) Linton, Taryn Linton, his grandchildren, Hunter Linton, Miriam Linton, Beatrice Linton, and his sister, Marlene Cook.

Cremation was chosen according to his wishes. An open-house pitch-in memorial service with commemorative activities will be held on Friday, June 27, at Sycamore Springs Park in English, Indiana, from 11:00AM to 4:00PM.
