Theodore Roy "Ted" Mattson

Theodore "Ted" Roy Mattson of Silver Cliff, Wisconsin passed away on October 22, 2024, in Oconto Falls while under hospice care. His loving family was by his side. He was 80 years old.
Ted was born in Rawene, New Zealand on July 11, 1944, to the late Roy and Lorraine (Curle) Mattson while his father was stationed there during WWII. Ted graduated from Oshkosh High School.
He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, Ted began growing his family. He was blessed with four children. He raised his family in Jackson, Wisconsin, and worked for over 35 years at Silgan Containers Corporation.
He enjoyed bowling, having played on leagues in West Bend, Slinger, and Menomnee Falls. He loved being outdoors with his family, often showing his children the greatest fishing spots and hunting alike. He made many trips to Canada on fishing trips, and elk hunts in Idaho and Colorado. He also enjoyed snomobiling and camping. In 1989, he and his wife, Joyce began building their eventual retirement home in Silver Cliff, a handcrafted, draw shaved log home. In 2016 Ted and Joyce made the log cabin their home.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Houck, Shelly (Doug Gabel) Laura Mattson, Kristina (Jesse) Carron, sisters, Davia (Wayne) Mattson, Charisse Atton, grandchildren, Katelyn (Jake), Rachelle (Channing), Bret, Jasmin (Nolan), Alicia (Abdullah), AJ (Kelsey), great grandchildren, Zach, Darci, Ruth, Elara and expecting #5, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-laws, Fred Atton and Craig Olson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Weber-Hill & Packard Funeral Home in Wabeno. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
